I was out in the yard this morning watering the garden and generally checking things over, when I came to strawberry bed and noticed this little guy hanging out in there.
I've been having a difficult time with my strawberries. I have gotten a few good ones, but many of them appear to have been chewed on before they're even getting ripe. I'm not sure if it's insects, but I have noticed ants in the bed. I've been trying to get rid of them by natural means, but if a praying mantis wants to hang out in my strawberry bed and police it for me, it is more than welcome!
The idea of using animals to ward off other animals reminded me of another Minecraft parallel. The worst offender by far in the game is the Creeper, but even so formidable a monster is terrified of none other than the ocelot/ house cat. Breeding a dozen of those little felines and having them follow you around is a great way to keep yourself safe in the dark woods at night.
