Merry Christmas! The garden is empty, but I wanted to write a quick post about my Holiday cooking. Usually, I spend the entire Christmas season dipping random things in chocolate and claiming that they're real baking. Not this year. I wanted to do something really special and memorable, so I found this recipe. It's a tiramisu-flavored Yul log with meringue mushrooms. It appeared incredibly complicated, but that has never stopped me. It turned out fantastic!
This dish used just about every pot and pan in my entire kitchen, but it was well worth it. The entire process (including the mushrooms) took me about five hours. It was filled with techniques I had never tried before, and was honestly the most labor-intensive piece of food I have ever made. But it was AMAZING. It tasted absolutely incredible, and I was was so pleased.
In fact, it turned out so well that I, being a glutton for punishment- made a second one to take to my mother's house for Christmas. Yes, I spend nearly ten hours making two desserts. This is truly a once-a-year treat, but I am going to be making this every year until I die. It's THAT good.
